Kildare is home to a diverse wildlife. Canals and other inland waterways are home to various species of mammals and birds. In the gallery below there are some of these species. The beautiful Robin is one of Irelands top-20 most widespread garden birds and probably the most familiar.
The grey plumage and stature of Grey Herons make them unmistakable. They are widely found posed motionlessly at the edge of water bodies, coiled ready to strike out at unsuspecting prey. I often encounter this creature on my walks, unfortunately I have yet to capture it in action fishing. One day!!
